From its inception, the P.E.O. Sisterhood has taken an active role in the promotion of educational opportunities for women. Today, education continues to be the primary philanthropy of P.E.O., as evidenced by the promotion of five international projects designed to assist women. P.E.O. has grown from a membership of seven to more than a quarter of a million members in chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada.
