A recent article in the Des Moines Register about cloud computing highlighted Alliance Technologies work with the YMCA of Greater Des Moines. Recently, the YMCA transitioned their infrastructure to Alliance Technologies’ cloud computing solution.

Prior to switching to the Alliance cloud, the YMCA was running multiple servers out of each of their 10 branch offices. There was limited connectivity between locations, which became problematic as branch offices began sharing employees. Because office staff were only connected to the servers at their main location it made it difficult to access the applications and files they needed when they changed offices. By migrating to a centralized computing platform, delivered via a hosted cloud infrastructure, all staff can now share files and applications from one pool of resources, which they can access via the Internet.

The Alliance Technologies Cloud Computing solution provides benefits to the YMCA in four major areas:
