Get to Know Your Sales Staff - Lindsay Alderman
This month we thought we’d shake things up a bit and interview a member of the Alliance sales team instead of a Network Engineer. Our sales team is a much as part of our great customer service as our Network Engineers. So, without further ado, here is Lindsay Alderman, our Business Sales IT Consultant:
How long have you been in the IT business?
I’ve been selling technology for about nine years total – most of that experience is with the telephony side of things, but I’m learning networking now, too. I started working at Qwest’s sales department in college, and I stayed there for over eight years. And now I’ve been at Alliance Technologies for half a year.
Can you tell me a little about your role as a technology salesperson?
Sales has always come naturally to me because it’s about building relationships with people and being able to provide solutions for clients that solves a business need. I find meaning in helping clients and working for a solution that is going to benefit their business. I keep up with the tech lingo with engineers, but I’m able to communicate to the average end-user and help them understand how we are going to help their businesses grow through technology, and since technology is always changing – there is always something new to learn. It keeps me on my toes.
Tell me something interesting about you.
I love to travel – I have family all over the world, so I enjoy the opportunity to meet and interact with other cultures. I’m planning a trip to Peru and Machu Picchu right now – I hope to go sometime in the next year. I have two kids, too, so I’m looking forward to them growing older so I can share my love of travel and other cultures with them.
