In every newsletter we interview a member of our team at Alliance so you can get to know them better. This time we interviewed Tom Agnitsch, our Director of Security Solutions.
 
How long have you been in the IT business?

I've been in the business for 19 years.

Do you have any specializations? 

I am a jack of all trades; I have an accounting and management background and those things led me into technology.  I have done software development. I also owned my own technology company that focused on security in the financial industry.

Why do you like working with computers? 

I am not sure I like working with computers, but I do love working with people. I enjoy identifying areas where computers and technology can improve the business operations. That's my favorite part of this business.

What technologies interest you the most?

Virtualization technologies and cloud computing really have my attention right now.  The cloud is the future. Using virtualization in the cloud will allow companies like Alliance to provide businesses with technology that is always accessible. There are other advantages, too: more redundancy will help with uptime and with support staff onsite, support is much faster. There are some exciting technologies at work here. 

Tell me something interesting about you.

I am not a very interesting person. I was an accountant after all! I enjoy riding my Harley and playing golf on warm sunny days. I spend most of my free time with my family - my wife, five children, and sixteen grandkids. With sixteen grandkids involved in sports and other extra-curricular activities I don’t have much ‘free time’ but that’s OK.  I enjoy every minute I get to spend with my family.
